Reflective of this is his tenure as Vice President of Operations with Discovery Land Company, a worldwide leader in luxury golf, community and lifestyle development. While with Discovery, Mr. Abbott instituted service ideas for amenity enhancements and experiences. His ability to develop and execute distinctive service and member experiences for Discovery projects resulted in significant sales, member satisfaction and operational excellence.
Evident everyday at Bluejack National, Mr. Abbott has a keen ability to effectively execute simultaneous projects without compromising quality, timelines or functionality. Building upon the differences of the sales, marketing, operations and financial teams, Abbott has led successful executive-level marketing and finance campaigns in environments where growth and accountability were paramount.
In addition, Mr. Abbott is a two-time “PGA Merchandiser of the Year,” a former ESPN golf commentator and a swing coach to such noted PGA TOUR players as Mark O’Meara, Paul Stankowski, Pat Perez and others.
Abbott’s expertise and leadership is currently on display at some of the nation’s most elite private clubs and communities in North America. He is married with four kids, and is based in Dallas, Texas.
Blair Majcina has established a versatile career in finance having spent time in both the debt and equity communities as well as providing independent consulting for a litany of companies across various industries. Mr. Majcina has participated in raising over $800.0M in capital and operated three middle-market companies throughout the duration of his career.
Most recently, Mr. Majcina was a Senior Vice President with a lower-middle market debt fund named Briar Capital, LP. At Briar Capital’s Dallas office, he was responsible for the development of new business, underwriting and the structuring of debt products for companies in various industries including oil and gas services, telecommunications, manufacturing, education, technology, healthcare, construction, real estate and distribution. During his time with Briar, heproposed and structured 30+ financings and established a well-respected presence amongst the Dallas-Fort Worth finance community.
Previous to Briar, Mr. Majcina was with Lantern Asset Management, a middle-market, special situations focused, private equity investor. Mr. Majcina assisted the Lantern team with the underwriting, financing and asset management of investments across all industries including real estate, hospitality, manufacturing, retail, energy, and technology. Prior to joining Lantern, he was a member of Wells Fargo Capital Finance, a national industry leading commercial lending group based in Dallas, TX. Mr. Majcina was involved in the funding of companies in numerous industries including resort finance, hard money real estate, asset based lending, equipment finance, leveraged loan funds, retail finance, and distribution finance.
In October 2014, Mr. Majcina founded Soryn Capital, LLC, an advisory firm focused on providing strategic planning, operational management and capital raising services to developing companies. Soryn Capital has worked with emerging companies in real estate, energy, and retail.
Mr. Majcina holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double major in Finance and Political Science, from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. Mr. Majcina was a four year scholarship track and field athlete at the University of Notre Dame.
